Steve Says

Its been over a year since our solar panels were installed and MVTV hasn’t had to pay for one electric bill all year! Our investment in green technology appears to be paying off in a big way. Stop by MVTV or call 508-696-9760 and ask Stephen for a tour of this exciting technology!

MVTV has purchased new Canon VIXIA cameras for use by students and other MVTV members who want a lighter camera for their productions. Each camera has it’s own tripod and remote control, so this little camera is the perfect setup for b-roll, cutaways and second camera work. Stop by MVTV and ask Carl to take a look at our new, portable camera setups!

The 2017 Featherstone Summer Video Camp was a success! The kids, and the Instructor (Michelle) had a blast! We will be conducting a second Kids Summercamp next week in collaboration with Featherstone and the MV Film Society. This will be our first collaboration with the Film Society with the premiere showing at the their amazing beautiful movie theatre in Vineyard Haven. It’s going to be one for the books for sure!

Look for it on Channel 14!

Our August meeting was brief: the current slate of officers was reelected, the committees were appointed, and the success of the Annual Meeting was discussed. Feedback on the wonderful Henry Wo art show was shared, and Rebecca announced that she & Michelle are preparing a presentation of MVTV’s involvement in hands on education in island schools for the M.V. School Committee.
