** APRIL 2018 MVTV NEWSLETTER **
Good news! The M.V. Ag Society has invited us back to the Fair! MVTV will provide the community with media coverage of the 4 days of events at the 2018 Fair, plus video of all the displays in the hall. This is a terrific opportunity for members to gain experience in camerawork & switching, so note the dates – August 16, 17, 18 & 19.
Archiving all our programming at MVTV has become a problem. We have filled 40 terabytes and have doubts about the viability of the oldest ones. We are looking into NAS, ‘Network Attached Storage’, as an alternative to The Cloud, which is very expensive for our purposes. NAS, a computer with massive archiving capabilities, promises to be the most efficient and cost effective answer to our needs. To learn more about NAS, Google it or come in and ask!
MICHELLE’S MEDIA MESSAGE
Be on the lookout for numerous productions such as the Edgartown Kids Cooking Show and a production honoring the Unsung heroes in our community. We are gearing up for Summer and we have the volunteers ready and trained to go out into the community and bring back some amazing programming. Stay Tuned!
